The hostel was constructed in 2013, considering the rapid expansion of students in various courses.  The hostel is divided in to 6 clusters with various features like 3 elevators in three blocks.  The total capacity of MHB-I is 481 students with single occupancy. MHB-I provides accommodation to both Second year and final year PG students of various departments.  Each student is provided with a cot, study table and chair and adequate storage space for personal belongings.  Separate LAN connections are available in all rooms for the uninterrupted internet access.  The hostel provides a total of 108 bathrooms, 108 toilets, 108 washbasins with mirrors and 144 urinals.  3 water coolers are made available for the constant supply of drinking water.  19 geysers are provided in the bathrooms.

For smooth functioning, MHB-I is divided into 2 blocks and has 2 office rooms, 2 wardens’ rooms, 2 store rooms and electrical rooms.

STAFF AVAILABILITY

• For managing hostel activities, two wardens and two care takers are available in the hostel from 9.00 AM to 5.30 PM in working days. 

• The service of two attendants is also available 24x7.

• 12 sanitation workers are available from Monday to Saturday (7.00 AM to 4.30 PM)
