Centre for Continuing Education and Skill Development (CCESD) at NIT Calicut is dedicated to design, develop and deliver various educational, research, training and outreach programmes for personal and professional development of internal and external stakeholders in association with various departments/centres/ sections of the institute as well as external agencies. The centre provide necessary logistics and extend administrative support for the conduct of various programs such as seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops, hackathons, design clinics, exhibitions, competitions, contests, roadshows as per the needs of various department/centres/sections of the institute or of the institute as a whole or of an external agency or community.

Mission

To establish NITC as a National Skill Hub for training professionals, executives, unskilled workforce and also for training the persons from all sections of the society to promote research, innovation while enhancing the skills to boost  productivity and overall development of the society, in the spirit of ‘Vasudaiva Kutumbakam’.

Objectives

• Foster professional growth and holistic wellness among skilled and unskilled workforce to establish NITC as a National Skill Hub of the Government of India.

• Facilitate entrepreneurship and innovation for all stakeholders.

• Customize training programmes to ensure inclusion of     individuals and groups with special needs.

• Organize sector specific skill development programmes taking into account industry requirements, technological innovations and professional goals.

• Create on-the-job and off-the-job learning content for professionals that enable      them to accommodate changes at workplace.

• Undertake the skill development programmes of the Government of India and the State Governments.

• Effectively utilize the grants, CSR funding, etc. to impart skills in the focus groups.

Functions

• Organize professional development programmes for industry professionals and the workforce.

• Conduct skill development programmes for unskilled workers, including individuals from Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG).

• Promote holistic growth through training programmes for personal enrichment.

• Facilitate a     dvanced-level educational, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and start-up programmes for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Undertake skill development programmes promoted by the Government of India and other State Governments under Apprenticeship Act, skilling Policy, finishing school programmes, etc.

• Collaborate with D     epartments/C     entres or with multiple D     epartments/C     entres or with MoU partners/collaborators/Government departments, professional      associations, trade organisations, Chambers of Commerce and similar agencies to conduct seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops, hackathons, design clinics, exhibitions, competitions, contests, roadshows, etc..

Scope

The objective of establishing such a centre is to design, develop and deliver various educational, research, training and outreach programmes for personal and professional development of internal and external stakeholders in association with various departments/centres/ sections of the institute as well as external agencies. 

The centre will provide necessary logistics and extend administrative support for such programs including preparation of brochures, fixing of the registration fee for various categories of applicants, fixing institute overhead charges or organizing various seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops, hackathons, design clinics, exhibitions, competitions, contests, roadshows as per the needs of various department/centres/sections of the institute or of the institute as a whole or of an external agency or community.
