Centre for Electric Vehicle Engineering (CEVE) at NIT Calicut is dedicated to serve as a specialized Ecosystem for driving innovation, entrepreneurship, research and development, besides training and certification in the realm of e-mobility. The center is a one-of-a-kind academic-industry partnership, positioning NIT Calicut as a pioneering hub for cutting-edge research in Electric Vehicle (EV) and its associated technology. This center functions as a focal point for pioneering advancements in electric vehicle technology, encompassing crucial aspects like battery/ ultracapacitor technologies, microgrid and charging infrastructure, and novel motor designs and motor control algorithms etc. The centre also facilitates patents, renders courses for upskilling, and involves in promoting knowledge and awareness in Green technology.

Mission

To develop state of the art sustainable transportation by fostering innovation, conducting impactful research, and disseminating knowledge in collaboration with academia and industry and enhance efficiency, affordability, and environmental impact in order to contribute to the global transition towards an energy-efficient transportation ecosystem.

 

Objective

  • To create and foster a hub for Research, Innovation, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship for Green Mobility.

  • To provide real time training for the campus recruits in EV domain.

  • To conduct ground breaking research in EV and associated technologies in collaboration with different stakeholders.

  • To test and certify the technologies used in e-mobility

  • To offer M-Tech and PhD program at the center to facilitate multi-disciplinary research in EV technologies
