As an ambitious initiative, NIT Calicut, partnering with NITIE Mumbai, has launched a Centre of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (CoELSCM) to contribute to the realization of the objectives of the PM Gati Shakti scheme. CoELSCM is a multidisciplinary centre that works across various research groups such as Industrial Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Remote Sensing and Geospatial Technology and Cyber Security. This centre focuses on new and emerging technologies with multidisciplinary and translational research relevant to achieving PM Gati Shakti's objectives of improving the supply chain's operational efficiency and minimizing logistics costs. The Centre has initiated steps in disseminating advanced knowledge and promotion of Digitisation, Analytics, IoT applications, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications among the practising professionals in the organizations involved in the logistics sector.
