Dr Raju Dey received his M.Sc. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (2007) and Ph.D. from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (2012), Kolkata, in the field of organic synthesis. Thereafter he spends four years at KAUST Catalysis Center and two years at University of Bergen, Norway, for his postdoctoral study. During his postdoctoral stay he developed several highly efficient transition metal based heterogeneous catalytic system for variety of useful transformations e.g. alkane metathesis, alkene metathesis and selective hydrogenation of lignin model compounds. Dr. Dey joined the Department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology Calicut as an assistant professor in September 2018. His current research work is focused on the design and synthesis of novel transition metal based catalyst system for: C-C and C-hetero atom bond formation reactions under environmental friendly conditions, transformation of carbon dioxide into valuable products, Methane activation, various C-H activation and related organic transformations.
