The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025 has been set up by the Ministry of Education [erstwhile Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD)] to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 127 institutes for the academic year 2025-26. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 46 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.

CSAB

          The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) was constituted by the Ministry of Education (Erstwhile Ministry of Human Resource Development) in 2013 to replace the Central Counselling Board (CCB). The CSAB is responsible for centralized counselling of all Engineering/Technology and Architecture/Planning undergraduate seats in NITs/ IIEST/ IIITs/ SPAs/ and a few other Technical Institutes funded fully or partially by the Central or State Government (Other-GFTIs), together called the NIT+ System. By order of the Ministry of Education, CSAB and the Joint Admission Board of IITs (JAB-IITs) together constituted a Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for joint counselling and seat allocation to IITs and the NIT+ System from the academic year 2015-16 onwards. Based on the candidates’ JEE (Advanced) rank the seats are allocated to IITs, while seats are allotted to NIT+ System based on JEE (Main) rank.

            Based on the JEE (Main) rank, a separate CSAB-Supernumerary round is also conducted by CSAB (https://CSAB.nic.in) for admission to supernumerary seats for Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli in selected NITs.

Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA)

Admission to Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin / Non-Resident Indians / Overseas Citizen of India to undergraduate programmes in premier Technical Institutions is being offered under DASA scheme of Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India [erstwhile known as Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)] since the academic session 2001-02. MoE has entrusted the coordination of the admission process under DASA scheme for the academic year 2025-26 to National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NITC) vide official order (F.No.37-1/2023 - TS.III Dated: 06th February 2025). The admission is based on the valid JEE (Main) rank and the Applicant should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology) in 11th AND / OR 12th, as applicable in the respective boards.

ICCR scholarship

          India is known as education hub attracting international students from all over the world. Indian’s diversity and vibrant history tender a broad range of options for students. With access both to such rich and divert as well as a rapidly growing country on the cutting edge of the technological revolution, studying in India has much to offer, whether an applicant interests Engineering, Computers, Philosophy, Politics or in Classics etc.

     Indian Council for Cultural Relations with a mandate of administering scholarship programmes of Government of India annually awards about 3940 scholarship under 26 different schemes to foreign students from about 140 counties. Amongst these 23 schemes, six are funded by ICCR from its’ own grant and others are administered on behalf of MEA and Ministry of Ayush. The courses offered for studies are for under-graduation, post-graduation and M. Phil /PhD levels. In every academic year ICCR holds about 6000 + foreign students who are studying at various Central/States University, Institutes, NITs and Agricultural Institutions etc.

       A step forward towards “Digital India” ICCR developed the “Admissions to Alumni (A2A) Portal) to streamline the enrolment process. With the introduction of the portal from the academic year 2018-19 onwards, ICCR Scholarship programs are not only digitized but also have become an effortless exercise. The portal contains all relevant information regarding ICCR sponsored scholarship schemes and other information like names of the Indian Universities, courses offered by them and guidelines of scholarship schemes etc.

Study in India (SII)

The Study in India (SII) programme is a flagship initiative launched by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, The Study in India portal (www.studyinindia.gov.in) was officially introduced on April 18, 2018, which was later upgraded and a new version of the portal was jointly launched by MoE, MHA and MEA on 3rd August 2023. Education in India Programme functions through a centralized online portal wherein foreign students can apply to more than 160+ top Indian institutes like IITs, NITs, IISC, etc., that offer 2600+ diverse range of courses across multiple disciplines. The online portal (www.studyinindia.gov.in) is curated to cater for every need of an international student seeking admission in India. Whether the students are unaware of Indian higher education or confused about which college would suit their study requirements, all the necessary information can be availed in detail through the online portal. The new portal integrates dynamic features including student registration, generation of Unique Student ID, online application submission, visa processing and FRRO application process.
