Dr. Swamy obtained MSc in General chemistry from University of Hyderabad in 2009 and Ph.D from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) India, in the field of main group organometallics in 2014. After completion of the Ph.D, he has spent five years abroad as a post-doctoral fellow in the area of supramolecular (host-guest) and organometallics (metal based asymmetric catalysis) chemistry. In first post doc he was involved in design and synthesis of supramolecular architectures for their desired applications. During the second post-doctoral position he was involved in (i) development of chiral ruthenium polypyridyl complexes for the formation of molecular cages for photo catalysis and (ii) using novel carbene oxazoline metal complexes for asymmetric hydrogenation of olefins, enamines, and ketones. Later, he joined as assistant professor in the department of chemistry, National Institute of Technology, Calicut in 2020. Currently, he works on design and synthesis of supramolecular architecture for stabilising main group elements as well as catalysis. Further, he works on chemosensors for biologically important cations and anions.
