Kerala youth meet Education Minister, explore the culture of Odisha

Kerala Delegates of Yuva Sangam Phase 3 have reached the final lap of their tour to Odisha to explore the culture, tradition and craft in Odisha. A team comprising 43 delegates from different parts of Kerala and five faculty and staff members from NIT Calicut are now visiting tourist destinations and villages in Odisha. 

The delegates got an opportunity to interact with Union Minister for Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday. Shri V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs also interacted with them at the programme held at Bhubaneswar in Odisha.

The team visited Raj Bhavan, Odisha and interacted with Odisha Governor Shri Raghubar Das. The tour has also helped the delegates to visit places like Debrigharh, the Hindalco plant at Lapanga, Samaleswari Temple, Sainik School, CRPF Sambalpur campus, IIT Bhubaneshwar, Udayagiri, Puri, Konark etc. Their tour will come to an end on Sunday. 

NIT Calicut is happy that our delegates are getting warm reception in Odisha, said Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut. We are also gearing up to welcome the delegates from Odisha and give them the true experience of Kerala, he added. 

 Kicking off their journey on November 25 from NIT Calicut, the nodal educational institution of Yuva Sangam in Kerala, they were accorded a warm reception in Odisha by IIM Sambalpur, the nodal Institution in Odisha. The delegates were offered an induction programme for the trip before taking them to different parts of Odisha. A team of delegates from Odisha will reach NIT Calicut on December 4 as part of the cultural exchange programme. 

 The youth from Kerala embarked on this journey as part of the Yuva Sangam program initiated under 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and AICTE. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's visionary program aims to foster cultural connections among different states and union territories of India. The visit aims to offer multi-dimensional exposure to the youth in tourism, tradition, technology, development and People-to-People Connect.
