Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 Begins at NIT Calicut

 Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility (ജാഗ്രത നമ്മുടെ കൂട്ടായ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം)
The Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) 2025 observance commenced at the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) with the administration of the Integrity Pledge by Prof. (Dr.) Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut. The observance follows the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), New Delhi, encouraging institutions across the nation to promote transparency, integrity, and accountability in public life.
Addressing the gathering of faculty, staff, and students, Prof. (Dr.) Prasad Krishna highlighted that vigilance is a collective ethical responsibility rather than an individual act. He urged every member of the NITC community to uphold honesty and integrity in all aspects of their professional and personal life, ensuring that fairness and transparency remain core institutional values.
Dr. G. Unnikrishnan, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of NITC, invited the Director, faculty, staff, and students to participate in the weeklong observance and reaffirm their commitment to ethical practices. Participants took the Integrity Pledge, collectively resolving to remain vigilant and responsible in preventing malpractice or corruption.
As part of the week’s activities, NITC will conduct lectures, poster campaigns, essay and quiz competitions, and awareness sessions under the theme “Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility” (ജാഗ്രത നമ്മുടെ കൂട്ടായ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം). These initiatives aim to foster a culture of integrity and ethical awareness within the campus community.
The observance reflects NIT Calicut’s continued commitment to transparency, good governance, and ethical conduct, in line with the national vision of building a vigilant, responsible, and corruption-free society.
