Strengthening Global Academic Partnerships: Clemson University Delegation Visits NIT Calicut

The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) hosted a distinguished delegation from Clemson University on 4 March 2026, marking an important step towards expanding global academic collaboration.

The delegation comprised Melissa Smith, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences; Kapil Chalil Madathil, Wilfred P. Tiencken Endowed Professor of Industrial and Civil Engineering; and Kalyan Piratla, Liles Distinguished Professor at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences.

During the visit, the delegation interacted with the Director, Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members of National Institute of Technology Calicut. The discussions focused on strengthening academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.

The interaction provided a valuable platform to explore potential areas of cooperation, including joint research initiatives, collaborative academic programmes, and opportunities for international engagement. The visit also highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing innovation, research excellence, and global academic partnerships.
