South India’s Largest Techno-Management Fest, Tathva ’25, Kicks Off at NIT Calicut

Tathva ’25, recognised as South India’s largest techno-management fest, commenced at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut on Friday. The three-day festival, running from October 24 to 26, is set to transform the campus into a hub of innovation and is expected to host over 6,000 students from across the southern states.
The event was formally inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr. N. Ranjana, Director, FTM, DRDO, New Delhi. In her inaugural address, Dr Ranjana emphasised the critical importance of technology in Indian defence, citing its application in 'Operation Sindoor'. She encouraged the "upcoming generation" of students to drive future technological advancements for the nation.
Delivering the presidential address, Dr. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, highlighted the institution's unwavering commitment to technology and nation-building.
The inaugural function began with a welcome address by Dr. Satyananda Panda, Dean (Students Welfare). The gathering was also addressed by Guests of Honour Dr. Reji Joseph, Scientist at LPSC–ISRO, Trivandrum, and Mr. Sankar Bora, Founder & Director of Myntra and GoCHK, Bangalore. Prof. M. K. Ravi Varma, Dean (IACR), NIT Calicut, offered the felicitation.
Over the next two days, Tathva ’25 will feature an expansive Tech Expo, numerous hands-on workshops, and eye-opening interactive sessions under the Tech Conclave. The Conclave is set to host prominent figures, including Anandaraman Ajay, the mind behind Nissaram, and renowned mentalist Anandhu.
Among the major attractions is the flagship event, RoboWars, a crowd favourite showcasing robotic combat. A significant new addition this year is the Nexus VR Arena, noted as the first of its kind in Kerala. Visitors can also witness a thrilling Automotive Show, alongside various design showcases, exhibitions, and cultural performances before the fest concludes on October 26.
