Smart Laundry Facility Inaugurated at NIT Calicut Hostels
In a major enhancement to student amenities, NIT Calicut has launched a state-of-the-art LG Smart Washing Area in the hostel premises. The facility was formally inaugurated by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC, on 2nd July 2025.
This modern laundry setup features 10 advanced washing machines and 2 high-capacity dryers, all seamlessly integrated with a user-friendly mobile application. Through the app, students can conveniently book machines, track wash cycles, and receive real-time notifications once their laundry is complete.
Adding to the comfort and experience, the washing area includes a dedicated waiting lounge equipped with leisure activities such as carroms, foosball, and a television, providing a relaxed environment while students wait.
