Republic day celebrated with patriotic fervour
National Institute of Technology Calicut celebrated the 74th Republic Day of our country with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The programme began at 8.50 am on 26th January 2023. The chief guest Lt. Col. K K Manu hoisted the National Flag. He was accompanied by Dr. P. S. Sathidevi (Deputy Director), Cdr. (Dr.) Shamasundara M S (Registrar), Dr. Sameer S M Dean (Academic), Dr. Nikhil Sasidharan (Associate Dean (Students Welfare), Dr. Chandra Shekar Bestha (NCC Officer) and Mr Dhanesh Rambeth (SAS Officer). All the attendees saluted the National Flag and pledged to uphold the honour and integrity of our country. Mr. Prasad M V coordinated the event.
The chief guest addressed the students and urged them to do their best and feel proud to be Indian. The Deputy Director and registrar also addressed the students. Later NCC cadets were awarded with medals and certificate for their outstanding performance. The students of our Music Club brought the stage alive with patriotic songs. The venue reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebration came to an end with the National Anthem. The attendees dispersed with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their mind and heart.
