Republic day celebrated at NITC
National Institute of Technology Calicut marked the 75th Republic Day with a vibrant celebration attended by the academic community, students, and staff. The proceedings commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut.
Prof. Prasad Krishna, in his Republic Day address, reflected on the essence of freedom and self-governance. He expressed gratitude to the architects of the Indian Constitution and celebrated the nation's rich cultural heritage and global contributions in various domains. While acknowledging India's historical significance, he urged for a collective effort to propel the nation towards progress and development.
The event was honoured by the presence of two distinguished Padma Shri awardees, Padmashri Shri. Ali Manikfan and Padmashri Kum. KV Rabiya. Their presence added to the patriotic fervour of the celebration.
The ceremony included the rendition of the National Anthem and a spirited march-past by the NCC Cadets. Cultural programmes by the students added fervour to the celebration.
