Renovated Guest House “Sukrtam” Inaugurated at NIT Calicut

The renovated Guest House “Sukrtam” at the National Institute of Technology Calicut was formally inaugurated by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, in the presence of senior institute officials.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Sunil Jacob John, Registrar (In-charge), Dr. Shaija A., Dean (Planning and Development), Dr. Sunitha MS (Dean Faculty & Staff Welfare) and Dr. Sandhyarani Dean (R&C) along with faculty members and staff.
As part of the development initiative, 10 new guest rooms have been added using modern steel structure construction, enhancing the institute’s accommodation infrastructure. With the latest expansion, the Guest House now has a total of 30 well-equipped rooms, aimed at improving facilities for visiting faculty, officials, and guests of the institute.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ramesh S, Officer-In-Charge (Guesthouse) highlighted the various development activities undertaken as part of the renovation, emphasizing the focus on improved capacity, safety, and comfort.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, said:
“The upgradation of the Guest House ‘Sukrtam’ reflects our continued commitment to strengthening campus infrastructure. Quality residential and hospitality facilities are essential for supporting academic collaborations, conferences, and institutional engagements. This renovation is an important step toward enhancing the overall experience of our guests.”
The renovation of “Sukrtam” aligns with NIT Calicut’s ongoing efforts to modernize campus facilities and create a welcoming environment that supports the institute’s academic, administrative, and outreach activities.
