Ragam ‘25 at NIT Calicut on 21,22, 23 February

Ragam, NIT Calicut's signature cultural fest, is scheduled for February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2025. This year, Ragam embraces the theme ‘Woven Realities,’ offering a diverse range of cultural, technical, and sports events from March 21 to 23. With over 100 events spanning three days, the fest attracts college students from across the state and many other NITs nationwide.

Kalolsavam, the highly anticipated cultural showcase, will feature the Rajan Memorial Light Music Competition, Duffmuttu, Oppana, Bharatanatyam, and more.   Ragam's literature segment, I-Ink, will host notable figures like Maneesh Narayan, Vaisakhan Thampi, Aabida Rasheed, Narayana Bhattathiri, Appu Prabhakaran and others. Thirty-three workshops on topics including AutoCAD, Cloud Computing, Calligraphy, Ceramic Pottery, Game Development, and Web Mining will also be held. Lijo Jose Pelissery, Sanyukta Raza, and Ashwin Bharadwaj will judge the short film competition as part of Ragam's TakeOne section. Beena Philip, Mayor of Calicut, Bose Krishnamachari, Nishad Rawther, Muhsis Parari, Chef Kaushik, Babu Ramachandran, Dinu Veyil, Maya Pramod, Noureen Aysha and Anjana Gopakumar will head talks on different topics ranging from History and Relevance of Student Politics, Food and Culture, Press Freedom, Scientific Temper and other socially relevant topics.

ProShows will take place each of the three nights, featuring a star-studded lineup of Job Kurian, Salim-Sulaiman, Kanika Kapoor, and Pineapple Express. A carnival featuring gaming corners, go-karting, glow football, paintball, and more will also be on the premises. Theyyam, Tholpavakkoothu, Sand Art and Musical shows are also part of the three day fest.

Ragam 2025 was officially inaugurated at 5:00 pm on February 20th. Shri. Arun K Pavithran, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kozhikode City, was the chief guest. Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC; Cdr (Dr.) Shamasundara M.S., Registrar, NITC; Prof. Satyananda Panda, Dean of Student Welfare; Dr. Praveen Kumar G, Faculty Coordinator of Ragam '25; and Ms. Alvina Vinoy, Cultural Affairs Secretary, spoke at the inaugural function. Shebeer, Chief Treasurer of Ragam ’25, along with treasurers Abhijith, Vamsi, Chetna, Insha, and Akhil, were also present.
