PG Orientation Programme at NIT Calicut
The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) organized its Postgraduate (PG) Orientation Programme with great enthusiasm, marking the beginning of the academic journey for the new batch of postgraduate students.
The event was inaugurated by Professor Sunil Kumar Sarangi, former Director of NIT Rourkela, who shared his insights and words of encouragement with the incoming students. The Presidential Address was delivered by Professor Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, highlighting the institute’s vision, commitment to academic excellence, and opportunities available for holistic development.
Dr. Babu A.V , Dean (Academics), extended a warm welcome to the gathering, outlining the academic framework, resources, and support systems in place to ensure a smooth transition into postgraduate studies at NITC.
This year, a total of 725 students have been admitted to various master’s programmes at the institute. The admissions include:
542 students in M.Tech/M.Plan programmes
100 students in M.Sc. programmes
83 students in MBA and other specialized PG courses
In addition to these, the institute has also admitted 188 scholars to its Ph.D. programmes this year, reflecting NITC’s continued growth as a hub for advanced research and innovation.
The orientation programme served as a platform to acquaint the students with NITC’s academic culture, infrastructure, and vibrant campus life, setting the stage for an enriching and rewarding educational journey ahead.
