NITC observes the birth anniversary of Dr. C. V. Raman

National Institute of Technology Calicut on Tuesday observed the birth anniversary of Dr. C V Raman. The programme was organised by the Centre for Indian Knowledge System (CIKS) at NITC in association with Swadeshi Science Movement Kerala (SSMK). 

Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut, inaugurated the programme at Bhaskara Hall. Dr. C V Raman used Indian labs for all his inventions and this indicates that Indian students and young scientists can achieve anything if they are determined, Prof. Prasad Krishna said during his address. 

Dr. Tripta Takur, Director General of National Power Training Institute Delhi delivered the keynote address on the topic 'Energy Security and Environmental Concern: World's Two Major Challenges". 

 During her address, she highlighted energy security and environmental concerns as the two challenges faced by India. She also stressed the need for utilising renewable energy to address the issue. 

Dr. K. Muralidharan, Head, Department of Social Science, ICAR-CPCRI, Kasaragod and the president of SSMK; Prof. R Sreedharan, Chairperson of CIKS; Sri. Abga Raveendranatha Babu, South India Organizing Secretary, Vijnana Bharati and Dr. Ram Ajor Maurya, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Physics also spoke.
