NITC NCC Cadets Bag Top Honours
The 9(K) Naval unit from Calicut made their group proud from the Kerala and Lakshadweep Directorate by securing the runners-up position in the Inter-Group Competition (IGC) of All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2024, held at the INS Venduruthy, Southern Naval Command in Kochi from July 3 to July 12, 2024. The team bagged Golds in Semaphore & Ship Modelling, Silver in Boat Pulling, and Bronze in Boat Rigging & Service Subject.
A six-member team from NIT Calicut's Naval NCC (National Cadet Corps) representing the 9(K) Naval Unit made the institute proud by performing exceptionally well and bringing medals to NIT Calicut.
The team comprises cadets, NC I Deepak Kumar S and NC II Kothapalli Neha Varma from the Engineering Physics Department, NC II Thomas Peter and NC II Muhammad Rabeeh U from the Electronics and Communication Department, NC II Vasanth Sai Varshini K from the Mechanical Engineering Department, and NC II Manne Varshith Vardhan from Civil Engineering Department.
NC I Deepak Kumar S bagged a silver medal in Semaphore and a Bronze in Firing, while NC II Kothapalli Neha Varma secured a Bronze in Semaphore.
