NITC conducts DISHA-2023

Engineering aspirants and parents attend a guidance session

National Institute of Technology Calicut conducted a guidance programme for engineering aspirants and their parents on Monday. The programme 'DISHA-2023 (Direction and Inspiration to Students for Holistic Advancement)- Path Ahead of Engineering Education' was conducted to help the students understand the possibilities of different engineering streams. 

The programme aimed at helping students and parents to choose the right stream to begin their engineering education. The programme was also streamed live on the Youtube Channel of NITC to help those who could not register. 

Dr. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC inaugurated the session. Dr Sameer SM, Dean (Academic) and Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering; Dr. K Chitra, Associate Professor, Department of Architecture and Planning; Dr. M Harikrishnan, Associate Professor Department of Civil Engineering; Dr. Vinod Pathari, Associate Professor Department of Computer Science and Engineering; Dr. S Ashok, Professor Department of Electrical Engineering; Dr. R Manu, Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr. Baiju G Nair, Associate Professor School of Biotechnology; Dr. Fathima Fasmin, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering; Dr. Maneesh Chandran, Assistant Professor Department of Physics and Dr. V Sajith, Professor, School of Material Science and Engineering detailed the advantages and scope of each stream.  

The programme was conducted by Centre for Public Relations, Information and Media Exchange (C-PRIME) of NITC in association with different departments of the Institute. A total of 220 persons from different parts of the country registered for the programme.
