Leadership team of NIT Calicut, comprising of the Director, Registrar, Dean (International, Corporate and Alumni Relations) and Associate Deans (Corporate Relations and Research & Consultancy) visited Mumbai from 15^th January, 2025 to 18^th January, 2025 as a part of the NITC- Industry – Alumni connect initiative by the Office of Dean International Alumni and Corporate Relations (IACR)

Following industries were the part of NITC- Industries- Alumni Interactions:

1. Tata Consultancy Services
2. JSW Cement Limited
3. Schneider Electric
4. OTIS

Meetings were also held with INTECSOL (registered as a Not for Profit organisation) and an Initiative of NITC Alumni and NITCAA Mumbai chapter.

Dean IACR briefed during the meetings held about the various updates including details such as

• Award of more than 350 projects,
• 70+ patients,
• 115 start-ups under Technology Business Incubator,
• Thematic and Multi-Disciplinary Centres
• Research Thrust Areas- AI, Blue Economy, 3-D printing, Genetic Engineering, "Smart" Materials, Clean energy and Circular Economy, Semiconductor technology, Drones Technology to Disaster Management and Climate Resilience, Urban planning, and Design

Director NITC delivered an energy packed address during the Alumni meetings to drive home the following aspects and updates:

• Importance of Alumni connects, network with industries
• Having the latest and flexible curriculum relevant for the market.
•  Details of the significant investment secured by the institute thru a loan for upgrading the infrastructure to the best in class standard.
• Thanked the Batch of 1999 for donating Rs 50L to upgrade the Health Centre in the campus and hoped that such supports from the   Alumni will go a long way to build the institute into a world class one.
•  Seminars and Workshops involving global institutes and industries in the college. The next one is in March on the topic of Sustainability “Global Conference on Decarbonising India- GCDI” March 5^th-7^th , 2025. 
• Global Alumni Meet was announced 27^th December, 2025.

During the various meetings with Industry stalwarts like TCS, JSW Cement, Schneider Electric etc the teams jointly explored various collaboration opportunities to accelerate mutual areas of interest.
