NIT Calicut Sweeps All India Inter NIT Volleyball Title; Swimmers Clinch 14 Medals

The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) has once again reaffirmed its sporting supremacy on the national stage, registering a remarkable double victory at the All India Inter NIT Tournaments held at NIT Rourkela from October 24 to 26, 2025.
The highlight of the event was the Men’s Volleyball Team securing a historic championship hat-trick, while the NITC swimming contingent made waves with an impressive 14-medal haul.
Volleyball Team Clinches Third Consecutive Title
Continuing their unbeaten streak since 2023, the NITC Men’s Volleyball team dominated the tournament and lifted the championship trophy for the third consecutive year. In a commanding final performance, the team outclassed MNIT Bhopal with a straight-sets 3–0 victory.
The standout performer of the tournament, Mr. Vineeth Roshan, an M.Tech student from the Department of Civil Engineering, was adjudged the Best Player of the Tournament for the second successive year, having earlier won the honour at the 2024 edition held in Warangal.
The team’s consistent success was attributed to the expert mentorship of Mr. Deepesh K. K. and Ms. Nimmiraj V. J., whose dedicated guidance has been instrumental in sustaining NITC’s national dominance in volleyball.
Swimmers Make a Splash with 14 Medals
Adding to the celebrations, the NITC Swimming Team showcased outstanding performance at the All India Inter NIT Swimming Competition, bringing home a total of 14 medals across multiple events:
🥇 Gold: 2
🥈 Silver: 3
🥉 Bronze: 9
The swimmers’ achievement reflects their rigorous preparation and commitment, guided by coaches Ms. Remya and Mr. Akshay, under the leadership of Mr. Dhanesh Rambeth, SAS Officer.
These twin triumphs highlight NIT Calicut’s dedication to fostering a holistic campus culture, where students are encouraged to pursue excellence in both academics and sports. The achievements stand as a testament to NITC’s enduring legacy of producing champions who embody discipline, teamwork, and the spirit of national pride.
