NIT Calicut Signs MoU with NIFTEM-T to Advance Food Technology Collaboration
The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management - Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T) on 18th March 2026 at NIFTEM-T, Thanjavur. The MoU signing ceremony was graciously presided over by the esteemed Directors of the respective institutions, Prof. Prasad Krishna and Prof. V. Palanimuthu. The event was attended by Deans, Heads of Departments, and faculty members from NIFTEM-T. Representing NIT Calicut, Dr. Rajanikant G. K., Dr. Suresh P.S., Dr. Indumathi Sathisaran, and Dr. Saket Chandra from the Department of Bioscience and Engineering were present during the ceremony.
The program also included guided visits to key facilities at NIFTEM-T, notably the Food Processing Business Incubation Centre, Centres of Excellence in Grain Sciences and Non-Thermal Processing, and various departments. The participants discussed potential collaborative research projects, student and faculty exchange programs, and joint training initiatives to advance food technology and innovation.
Through this MoU, NIT Calicut and NIFTEM-T aim to nurture knowledge sharing, personnel exchange, technology-based innovations, and technology transfer in the food sector, fostering mutual benefits for both institutions and society. This high-potential partnership is expected to create new opportunities for collaborative research, industry engagement, and capacity building, thereby contributing significantly to the growth of India's food technology ecosystem.
