NIT Calicut Signs MoU with INTI International University, Malaysia
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut and INTI International University, Malaysia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through a virtual ceremony held on 28 July 2026 to strengthen international academic collaboration and promote excellence in education, research, and innovation.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. Dr. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, and Prof. Dr. Goh Khang Wen, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Global Engagement), INTI International University, Malaysia.
On behalf of INTI International University, the agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Goh Khang Wen, with Prof. Dr. Asokan Vasudevan, Director, International Relations & Collaborations Centre, serving as the witness. Representing NIT Calicut, the MoU was signed by Prof. Sunil Jacob John, Registrar, and witnessed by Prof. Kumaravel S., Dean (International, Alumni & Corporate Relations).
The partnership establishes a comprehensive framework for academic cooperation between the two institutions. It aims to facilitate student and research scholar exchange programmes, faculty exchange, collaborative research, joint academic programmes, and the organization of international conferences, workshops, seminars, faculty development programmes, and training initiatives. The collaboration will also promote joint publications, innovation-driven research, technology transfer, and industry–academia partnerships.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Prasad Krishna emphasized that international collaborations play a vital role in enhancing the quality of higher education and research. He noted that the partnership with INTI International University would create new opportunities for global engagement, interdisciplinary research, and academic excellence while enriching the international learning experience of students and faculty.
Prof. Dr. Goh Khang Wen highlighted the significance of global academic partnerships in addressing contemporary challenges through knowledge sharing, innovation, and cultural exchange. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would foster long-term academic relationships and deliver mutual benefits to both institutions.
The Office of the Dean (International, Alumni & Corporate Relations) acknowledged the valuable support and guidance of Dr. S. Mani, Visiting Professor, Department of Education, NIT Calicut, in facilitating the successful establishment of this international partnership.
The collaboration is expected to enhance international research cooperation, improve global visibility, strengthen student and faculty mobility, encourage joint publications, and promote stronger industry–academia linkages. It also reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to fostering academic excellence and preparing students for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
The virtual signing ceremony was attended by senior officials and faculty members from both institutions, including the Registrar, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and faculty members of NIT Calicut, along with the leadership and academic representatives of INTI International University, Malaysia.
Through this partnership, NIT Calicut continues to expand its global academic network and reaffirm its commitment to delivering world-class education and research through meaningful international collaborations.
