NIT Calicut shines in All India Inter-NIT handball, kabaddi and basketball tournaments

Students from National Institute of Technology Calicut exhibited excellent performance in All India Inter-NIT Handball and Kabaddi tournaments. The students from NIT Calicut bagged championship in the handball championship held at NITK Surathkal.

The event was held  between October 27 and 29. With the support of their coaching expert Mr. Tibin Augustin and captain George Stephen Lam, the team also succeeded in achieving individual stand outs.  Mr. Chippakurthi Pawan Kalyan won the title ‘The Best Shooter’ and Abhinav Vinay became the best Best Goalkeeper in the tournament.

Men’s Kabaddi team also demonstrated remarkable skill and determination at the All India Inter-NIT Kabaddi Tournament. They secured the runner-up position, reflecting their hard work under the expert guidance of Mr. Vysakh TP, the Kabaddi coach. P. Purushotham Reddy, the Kabaddi team captain also won the title Best Raider of the Tournament.

The men's basketball team of NIT Calicut had become runners up in the All India Inter- NIT Tournament held at Malaviya NIT Jaipur in the third week of October.
