In a significant milestone towards academic excellence, National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) has secured highest accreditation status of 6 years from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for three of its prestigious engineering programs—B Tech in Engineering Physics, M Tech in Power Electronics, and M Tech in Instrumentation and Control Systems. Additionally, the Institute has also been granted 3-year accreditation for two of its highly sought-after M Tech programs—M Tech in Industrial Engineering & Management and M Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. NIT Calicut achieved this feat based on the inspection visit of an expert committee composed of 11 senior professors from top Institutions in the country during 18-20 October, 2024. This achievement underscores the commitment of NIT Calicut to foster highest standards of education, research, and professional development in the ever-evolving field of engineering and technology.

Accreditation from NBA serves as a critical benchmark for quality assurance, ensuring that the academic programs meet the highest standards of academic rigor and industry relevance. The 6-years accreditation for the B Tech in Engineering Physics, M Tech in Power Electronics, and M Tech in Instrumentation and Control Systems reflects the institute’s outstanding curriculum, distinguished faculty, cutting-edge infrastructure, and alignment with evolving industry needs. The B Tech in Engineering Physics program, with its strong interdisciplinary foundation, equips students with the necessary skills to innovate and drive technological advancements in sectors ranging from semiconductor technology to nanotechnology. M Tech in Power Electronics and M Tech in Instrumentation and Control Systems cater to the growing demand for highly skilled professionals capable of designing, managing, and optimizing advanced systems in industries such as energy, automation, and manufacturing.
