The Centre for Yoga and Holistic Wellness, in collaboration with the Department of Bioscience and Engineering and the Centre for Women Welfare and Social Empowerment, observed Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October 2025) on October 16, 2025, to raise awareness about breast cancer and emphasize the importance of early detection and prevention.
The program witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and women from Kudumbashree, reflecting a strong community engagement towards promoting women’s health and wellness.
As part of the event, posters, models, charts, and short films highlighting the importance of breast self-examination and awareness of breast cancer risks were showcased.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Suresh P. S., Associate Professor, Department of Bioscience and Engineering, marking the second consecutive year of successful organization. The program received positive feedback and active participation from all attendees, reinforcing NIT Calicut’s commitment to health awareness and social well-being.
