NIT Calicut, NIELIT Calicut and DIAT Explore Strategic Academic and Research Collaboration
The Vice Chancellor of the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune, Dr. B.H.V.S. Narayana Murthy, a distinguished former Director General (Missiles and Strategic Systems), DRDO, along with Dr. Jayaraj U. Kidav, Executive Director, NIELIT Calicut, and Prof. Suwarna Datar, visited the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut and held discussions with Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, on avenues for institutional collaboration.
During the interaction, the heads of the institutions deliberated on opportunities for strategic collaboration in areas of mutual interest. The discussions focused on the possibility of launching joint academic programmes, undertaking collaborative research, facilitating faculty and student exchange, organizing specialized training programmes, and building capacity in emerging technologies. The meeting also emphasized strengthening the synergy between academia, industry, and the defence research ecosystem to address national priorities and accelerate technology-led innovation.
The interaction reaffirmed the shared commitment of NIT Calicut, NIELIT Calicut, and DIAT (Deemed to be University), Pune to fostering innovation, advancing cutting-edge research, and developing future-ready talent. Through such collaborative initiatives, the institutions aim to contribute meaningfully to India's vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by promoting excellence in education, research, technology development, and national capability building.
