NIT Calicut Joins the Prestigious HERITAGE Network


 

The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is pleased to announce its induction into the HERITAGE Network, a distinguished consortium dedicated to enhancing academic cooperation between India and Europe in the domains of Engineering, Science, Design, and Technology.

This significant milestone was formalized during the General Assembly of the Indian and European Universities Consortium, held on 14 May 2025 at TU Dresden, Germany. NIT Calicut was represented by a high-level delegation led by Director Prof. Prasad Krishna, along with senior officials overseeing the institute's international relations and strategic collaborations.

During the Assembly, Director Prof. Prasad Krishna presented a comprehensive overview of NITC’s academic and research profile, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to global partnerships, interdisciplinary excellence, and innovation-led growth. Following a competitive selection and deliberation process, NITC was unanimously elected as a member of the HERITAGE Network.

The HERITAGE Network is a premier Indo-European academic platform that:

  • Facilitates academic exchange and collaborative research between Indian and European higher education institutions

  • Supports the development of joint educational programs in Engineering, Technology, and related fields

  • Hosts annual scientific and technical workshops on key areas of mutual interest

  • Acts as a policy advisory body to promote and sustain global higher education collaborations

NIT Calicut’s inclusion in the HERITAGE Network marks a pivotal advancement in its internationalization strategy. The institute looks forward to contributing to shared academic and research goals, participating in collaborative programs, and co-creating impactful initiatives with partner institutions.
