NIT Calicut joins hands with Cyber Dome of Kerala Police

NIT Calicut and Cyberdome, an initiative of Kerala Police, have signed an MoU to combat emerging cyber threats and promote advanced research in Cyber Security. The MoU promotes partnership between NITC and Kerala Police for necessary staff training and research activities to boost cybercrime investigations.

Prof. Jose Mathew, Chairperson of the Centre for Industry-Institutional Relations at NIT Calicut, and H. Venkatesh, Inspector General of Police (Cyber Operations), signed the MoU.

As per the MoU, the Kerala Police would also collaborate with the NITC’s prestigious project on establishing a   Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (CoE AI) at the National level.

 “NITC has an excellent team of cyber security experts who can help the Kerala Police’s cyber wing in cybercrime investigations as well as offer training programmes for police officials”, said Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut. “Our expertise will also help in developing new techniques for cybercrime investigation”, he added.

The support of expert faculty and technical team from NITC is expected to boost the cybersecurity training programs and development of crime investigative techniques of the Kerala police. It will also ensure the availability of technical experts and cyber professionals in digital information technology fields.
