NIT Calicut Hosts Seminar on India's Techade-Chips for Viksit Bharat

NIT Calicut organised a Seminar on India's Techade-Chips for Viksit Bharat@2047 on Wednesday in alignment with the semiconductor mission of the country.  The primary objective of the seminar was to introduce students and faculty members to the comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem.

The event, held at Aryabhatta Hall, NIT Calicut, discussed the history and scope of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration). The highlight of the seminar was the expert lecture delivered by Ms. Poornima Mohanachandran, CEO of ekLakshya Innovation Labs and an alumnus of NIT Calicut. Ms. Poornima Mohanachandran, former GM of product development for high-performance data converters at Texas Instruments, shared invaluable insights into 'Trends and Opportunities in VLSI', drawing insights from her extensive experience in the field.

Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut, delivered an opening address, emphasizing the importance of India's Semiconductor Mission in the nation's technological advancement and in addressing security challenges. The young generation of engineers will benefit from the semiconductor mission and other such initiatives of the government of India, he added.

The Institute live streamed the address of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the Youth across the country on the occasion. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for three semiconductor facilities, two in Gujarat and one in Assam.

Over 600 students and 100 faculty members attended the seminar and live streaming. The institute also organised a quiz competition on Semiconductor Chips and VLSI Design. All the 600 students participated in the event.
