The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) celebrated its 22nd Convocation at the Guru Rabindranath Tagore Theatre, marking a historic milestone with 2,134 students graduating, the highest-ever graduating cohort in the Institute’s history.
The graduating batch comprised 1,162 B.Tech, 65 B. Arch, 18 M.Plan, 575 M.Tech, 102 M.Sc., 76 MBA and 136 PhD graduates, who now embark on diverse academic, professional, research and entrepreneurial journeys.
The ceremony was graced by Shri Santhosh Kumar, President & Managing Director, Texas Instruments India, as Chief Guest, and Shri Mathew P. Tharaniyil, President, Bloom Companies, USA, and distinguished alumnus of NIT Calicut, as Guest of Honour. Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, presided over the ceremony and presented the Annual Report for 2025–26.
Addressing the graduating students, Prof. Prasad Krishna highlighted the responsibility of the younger generation in shaping the nation’s future and urged them to use their knowledge and skills to build an inclusive, innovative and sustainable India and actively contribute to the journey towards Viksit Bharat.
Gold Medals and special awards were presented in recognition of outstanding academic performance, innovation, research and overall excellence.
With the highest-ever number of graduates this year and record admissions, NIT Calicut continues to strengthen its commitment to nurturing talented young minds and contributing skilled professionals, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs to the nation and the world.
