NIT Calicut Delegation Explores Strategic Academic Collaboration at NTNU, Norway


 

A high-level delegation from the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), led by Director Prof. Prasad Krishna, visited the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) on 15 May 2025 to advance Indo-Norwegian cooperation in education, research, and innovation.

The visit reaffirmed a shared institutional commitment to fostering international academic partnerships and featured several key engagements:

  • Presentation on Information Systems and Architecture (ISA): NTNU faculty highlighted interdisciplinary approaches to systems design and digital transformation, underlining the university’s research strengths in technology and computing.

  • Strategic Collaboration Dialogue: Discussions focused on expanding joint research initiatives, launching dual-degree postgraduate programs, and facilitating undergraduate exchange pathways between the two institutions.

  • Review of Bilateral Research Projects: The delegation reviewed the ongoing India–Norway collaborative research initiative co-led by Dr. Kiran Raja (NTNU) and Dr. Sudhish George (NITC), emphasizing sustained cooperation in emerging technologies.

  • Internationalization Roundtable: Both teams engaged in an open exchange on curriculum integration and institutional strategies for promoting academic mobility and cross-cultural engagement.

This visit marks a significant milestone in strengthening academic relations between India and Norway. It sets the foundation for long-term collaboration in interdisciplinary research, academic exchange, and the co-creation of global learning opportunities for students and faculty.
