NIT Calicut conducted training on food packaging
A training programme on ‘Food Packaging and Quality Certification’ organised by the National Institute of Technology Calicut shed light on the significance of attractive and quality food packaging and certification. Over 30 participants attended the seven-day training programme.
The Advanced Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (AESDP) for women entrepreneurs was organised the Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Incubation (CIEI) in association with the Technology Business Incubator (TBI).
The success of a business depends on the packaging of the product, said Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut while addressing the women entrepreneurs. It is important to retain the smell, colour and flavour of the food, he stressed.
He also urged the participants to go for eco-friendly and biodegradable packaging. Prof. Prasad Krishna also offered the support of NIT Calicut for improvising product packaging.
According to Prof. Prasad Krishna, women are efficient in running and managing businesses and self-confidence can help them reach heights.
The programme was organised aiming to equip women in Kerala. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises.
Experts and faculty from different Government organisations, industry, academic institutions, and entrepreneurs interacted with the participants.
Prof. S. Ashok, Chairperson of CIEI and Dr. M. Preethi, CEO of TBI coordinated the training sessions.
