NIT Calicut Celebrates its 66th Foundation Day
The 66th Foundation Day of the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) was celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm, marking another milestone in the Institute’s journey of excellence in education, research, innovation and nation-building.
The celebrations were inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Guest, Shri. V. D. Satheesan, Chief Minister of Keralam. The function was presided over by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut, in the esteemed presence of Shri. M. K. Raghavan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Kozhikode, Shri. M. A. Razak Master, Hon’ble MLA, and Dr. Subha Rao Pavuluri, along with faculty members, staff, students, alumni and distinguished guests.
During his address, the Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed interest in exploring collaborative projects with NIT Calicut, recognising the Institute’s expertise and its potential to contribute to Kerala’s development through technology, research, and innovation.
He also highlighted the vision to develop a new cruise terminal in Kozhikode, opening up exciting possibilities for tourism, connectivity and regional development.
The occasion reaffirmed NIT Calicut’s commitment to contributing its academic and technological expertise towards the progress of Kerala and the nation.
