NIT Calicut Celebrates 79th Independence Day
The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and unity. The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC. The ceremony was graced by CmDE G. Prakash, Nau Sena Medal, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Deans, faculty members, staff, and students gathered in large numbers to mark the occasion, reflecting the shared spirit of patriotism across the campus. The celebration featured a well-coordinated parade by the NCC cadets and security personnel, showcasing discipline and dedication.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC, said:
“Independence Day is not merely a celebration of our freedom but also a reminder of the sacrifices that made it possible, and as a premier educational institution, NITC must strive to build a stronger, self-reliant, and innovative India, with the success of Operation Sindoor once again demonstrating to the world India’s commitment to safeguard it’s people and it’s borders”
In his address, CmDE G. Prakash, NSM, Chief Guest, emphasized the values of service and integrity:
“The strength of our nation lies in its people, especially the youth. I urge the students of NITC to dream big, work hard, and uphold the ideals that our freedom fighters stood for.”
The event concluded with cultural performances and a vote of thanks, leaving the audience inspired to work towards the nation’s progress.
