NIT Calicut Celebrated Its First Alumni Day

The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) successfully hosted its first-ever Alumni Day, marking a significant milestone in celebrating the Institute’s rich legacy and honouring the outstanding achievements of its global alumni community. The event was held on Saturday, 27 December 2025, from 11:30 AM onwards at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, NIT Calicut.

A major highlight of the Alumni Day was the presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Awards 2025, which recognised exemplary alumni for their remarkable contributions in various fields. The programme also featured the felicitation of the leadership of the NIT Calicut Alumni Association (NITCAA) and the Silver Jubilee Reunion of Y2K Undergraduate and Postgraduate alumni, commemorating 25 years since their graduation.

The event also witnessed the release of two notable books. The first book, “Come with Me, Let Us Become Familiar with Bhagavad Gita”, authored by Prof. K. B. M. Nambudiripad, Professor (Retd.), NIT Calicut, was a project sponsored by an alumnus and published by the Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS). The second book released was “The EC3 Way”, authored by Group Captain Ranjith Isaac, an alumnus of the 1986 MED batch.

The programme was graced by Prof. Seshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad, as the Chief Guest, and His Grace Most Rev. Dr Varghese Chakkalakal, Archbishop of Calicut, as the Guest of Honour.

The Alumni Day provided a meaningful platform for reconnecting with accomplished graduates, sharing inspiring alumni journeys, and reinforcing the enduring bonds between the Institute and its alumni community. The event concluded on a celebratory note, reaffirming the collective commitment to NIT Calicut's continued growth and excellence.
