Men’s Basketball Team  Runners-Up

The Men’s Basketball Team of NIT Calicut delivered an outstanding performance and emerged as the Runners-Up in the All India Inter-NIT Men’s Basketball Tournament. Competing against top teams from across the country, the team displayed remarkable consistency, discipline, and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.

A special highlight of the tournament was the exceptional achievement of Mr. Simon Shibu (B220540EC), the Team Captain, who was awarded the Best Shooter of the Tournament for his accuracy and scoring ability.

 In addition, Mr. Mathew Kurian Pattam (B220045CS) played a crucial role with consistently strong performances, significantly contributing to the team’s success.

Women’s Basketball Team  Second Runners-Up

The Women’s Basketball Team of NIT Calicut achieved a commendable milestone by securing the Second Runners-Up position in the All India Inter-NIT Women’s Basketball Tournament. The team delivered a confident and spirited performance, notably defeating MNIT Jaipur in the losers’ final.

The team was led effectively by Captain Ms. Soumya Mathew, whose leadership on and off the court was instrumental in guiding the team through challenging matches. Ms. Anupama Karatparambil Sunil also stood out with her remarkable performance and consistency throughout the tournament.

The success of the team was strongly supported by the committed efforts and guidance of Mr. Bibijulal, Basketball Coach, whose coaching played a key role in the team’s preparation and performance.
