National Institute of Technology Calicut celebrates India’s 76th Republic Day

The National Institute of Technology Calicut proudly celebrated the 76th Republic Day of the nation, honoring the spirit of unity, freedom, and patriotism. The honorable director of the institute, Prof. Prasad Krishna, unfurled the tricolour and offered the Republic Day Message. He urged the youth of the nation to remember India's heritage and culture and the path we have traversed to reach where we are now as a nation.

Captain Shinodh Karthikeyan, Officer in Charge, water survival training facility (WSTF), INS Garuda, was the chief guest of the day and addressed the gathering. He shared his experiences as a member of the nation's defense force and spoke about the Indian Navy's rapid progress and advancements in recent years. Captain Shinodh Karthikeyan is a decorated officer of the Indian Navy, having won commendations for gallantry and devotion to duty. The Republic Day celebrations witnessed a parade by the NCC cadets, security guards, and a march past and procession. A vibrant cultural program followed that brought to life the spirit of our rich and diverse motherland. The celebration was attended by the Registrar, Cdr. (Dr.) Shamasundara M.S, NCC Officer Dr. Chandrashekar Besta, Deans, faculty members and staff, their family members, and students.
