MoU between NIT Calicut and Kalpetta Bar Association - Time Capsule Project
NIT Calicut has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kalpetta Bar Association on 19th Nov 2024 to fabricate a TIME CAPSULE commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Supreme Court of India which will be developed in partnership with NIT Calicut, is set to be launched in December 2024.
MoU signing ceremony was presided over by Prof. Prasad Krishna, Hon. Director, NITC. The Registrar, Cdr. (Dr.) M.S.Shamasundara, Prof.A.Shaija, Chairperson, CCECE,
Adv Shyam Padman, Legal Counsel, Deans, Heads of various Departments, Faculty members and staff from NIT Calicut were present. Adv. V.P.Yeldo, Adv. Sheeba Mathew, Adv. Nisha N Bhasi and Adv. Abdul Salam from Kalpetta Bar Association were present.
Prof.A.Shaija welcomed all the members to the ceremony followed by the presidential address by Prof. Prasad Krishna. Adv.V.P.Yeldo, President of Kalpetta Bar Association talked about the background of development of the TIME CAPSULE and the important historical documents, photographs and all other relevant information that are to be placed inside the time capsule.
TIME CAPSULE is a specially designed container meant to preserve a collection of items or information that reflects the culture, events, messages, or achievements of a specific era. The proposed time capsule is to be placed at the outdoors of Kalpetta Bar Association and is intended to remain sealed for up to 100 years, serving as a historical record. This time capsule shall be opened by the future generations tentatively after 100 years. This unique project is being undertaken by the Centre for Clean Energy and Circular Economy (C-CECE), NIT Calicut for execution.
The MoU was signed by the Registrar, Cdr. (Dr.) M.S.Shamasundara of NIT Calicut and Adv. V.P. Yeldo, President of the Kalpetta Bar Association. The design of the time capsule with its specification, structure and the materials used were elaborated to the attendees by Dr.Mohammed Rashad.K, member, CCECE and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.S.N.Deepa, Vice-Chairperson, CCECE.
