Mentor-Mentee Programme begins at NITC
The Institute's Innovation Council (IIC) of the National Institute of Technology Calicut organised a two-day Mentor-Mentee Orientation Programme on the campus. The programme funded by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC), was inaugurated by Dr. J. Sudhakumar, Director-in-Charge, NITC.
Mr. Abhishek Ranjan Kumar, Innovation Officer-cum-IIC Zonal Coordinator (SWRO & CRO), Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell delivered the keynote through the online platform. Twenty-four participants from five mentee institutions- College of Engineering, Adoor, Kerala; Amal College of Advanced Studies, Nilambur, Kerala; BMS College of Architecture, Bengaluru, Karnataka; St. Stephens College, Kollam, Kerala and Vimal Jyothi Engineering College, Kannur, Kerala participated in the event organised in hybrid mode.
Technical lectures on the topics - Introduction about IIC- NITC, Mentor-Mentee Scheme Guidelines for Mentee Institutions, Research Idea to inventions, Accelerators/Incubation- opportunities for Students & Faculties, Early-Stage Entrepreneurs, Emerging Technologies and the new world order, Startup track and innovation corridor, Intellectual Property Rights, and Technology transfer were delivered by resource persons.
Dr. Ashok S, Chairperson, Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Incubation; Dr. Kumaravel S, President of IIC, NITC and Dr. S Bhuvaneshwari, Programme Coordinator addressed the participants during the inaugural session.
The participants were taken for an industrial visit on Friday to explore the opportunities for start-ups and entrepreneurship.
