The Department of Education organized ‘Ázadi,’ an Inter-departmental Quiz Competition, for the Savitribai Phule Ever Rolling Trophy in connection with the 78th  Independence Day celebrations.  The programme was organized  in Bhaskara Hall on 28th August 2024. Twenty-eight  teams, each consisting of two members from various departments, participated in the event. Following a preliminary screening test, five teams advanced to the final round of  the competition.

Quiz Master Dr. Chandrasekharan Praveen, a faculty member of the Department of Education, designed the quiz with a comprehensive format that included three rounds of oral questions, three rounds of visual-based questions, as well as one round each of audio-based and video-based questions. The quiz covered a wide range of topics related to the Indian freedom struggle, with a particular focus on the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of independence.

The  winners of the competition:

• 1st Position: Shamna C T & Nadhi A S  (Dept. of Education)

• 2nd Position: Rajil C R & Neeraja N Namboodiri (Dept. of Education)

• 3rd Position :Krishna Priya M & Kavya K R  (Dept. of Chemical Engineering)

During the Valedictory function, Dr. Geetha Gopinath, Head of the Department of Education, extended her congratulations to both the organizing team and the participants.

The Chief Guest of the Valedictory function, Prof. Sathyananda Panda, Dean of Student Welfare, commended the Department of Education for organizing this innovative event. He presented the Savitribai Phule Ever Rolling Trophy, distributed certificates, and   prizes to the winners. In addition, all participants received a certificate of participation from the Department of Education.
