The inauguration of M.S. Swaminathan Seminar Hall was held in BSED in presence of our respected Director, Prof. Prasad Krishna (Chief Guest) and guest of honor, Dr. V. Shakeela (Director, MSSRF, Wayanad) on 10-09-2024 (Tuesday). The program commenced with a prayer and lamp lighting. Dr. Baiju G. Nair, HoD, BSED delivered the welcome address. Following the welcome address, Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NIT Calicut provided an inaugural address emphasizing the significance of human values, research in agriculture sector and biodiversity. Dr. V. Shakeela, Director, MSSRF, Wayanad enlightened the session with her Key Note Address on the contributions of Prof. M. S. Swaminathan in Green Revolution and the role of MSSRF in promoting strategies for the improvement of Indian agriculture. Dr. Md. Anaul Kabir, Professor, BSED felicitated the gathering and offered valuable insights for the development of the department. Finally, the program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shabina Ashraf, Assistant Professor, BSED. As a part of the special invited talk session, Dr. V. Shakeela provided a special invited talk on ‘Harnessing Agricultural Technology for Social Equity and Food Security in India’, thereby fostering the significance of agricultural technology and food security in India.
