Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC, officially inaugurated the Centre of Excellence for Blue Economy and Coastal Resilience on 30 January 2025. The event marked a significant milestone in the institute's efforts to promote research, innovation, and sustainability in the blue economy sector.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Santosh G Thampi, Chairperson, Centre of Excellence for the Blue Economy and Coastal Resilience who emphasized the importance of the centre in fostering interdisciplinary research and collaboration to address the challenges and opportunities in the blue economy.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Ricard Marxer, professor at the University of Toulon and researcher at the Laboratoire d'Informatique et Systèmes (LIS) who spoke on "Opportunities and Challenges of Marine Robotics and Blue Economy," highlighting the potential of marine robotics to transform various sectors, including fisheries, offshore energy, and coastal management.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Prateek Negi, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, and students who participated in the event.
