The 13th International Conference on Precision, Meso, Micro, and Nano Engineering (COPEN 13) was inaugurated on December 13, 2024, at the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC). The conference is jointly organized by NIT Calicut, IIT Palakkad, IIST Trivandrum, and NITK Surathkal.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Suhas S. Joshi, Director of IIT Indore, in the presence of Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut, Mr. Ravi Raghavan, Chairman-COPEN, Prof. V. Radhakrishnan, Co Chairman COPEN, Prof. Sheshadri Sekhar, Director, IIT Palakkad, Prof. Srikanth Bontha, NITK Surathkal and Prof. Jose Mathew, Organizing Secretary, COPEN 13. Prof. Dipankar Banarjee, Director IIST Trivandrum addressed the audience online. The chief guest, Prof. Suhas S. Joshi, emphasised on the industry needs to take Indigenous innovation and affordability of manufacturing to all sectors. Others speakers mentioned the need of domain expertise together with the skill set in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to solve the complex manufacturing problems. Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC, applauded the initiative of the collaborative effort in organizing the conference.

The opening day witnessed the participation of over 350 researchers and academicians from around the world. The inaugural day featured 6 keynote addresses by eminent experts and researchers, setting the stage for an enriching exchange of knowledge.

The conference spans three days, from December 13 to 15, 2024, and includes a series of technical sessions, workshops, and presentations highlighting cutting-edge research and innovations from researchers all over the world
