CWSE Celebrated International Day of Yoga

The National Institute of Technology Calicut celebrated the International Day of Yoga (IDY2024) on June 21, 2024, with great enthusiasm and participation from the NITC community. The event, held in accordance with the guidelines set by the government of India, aimed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through yoga.

Centre for Yoga and Holistic Wellness in association with Centre for Women Welfare & Social Empowerment organized a series of activities. From June 18-20, 2024, a three-day free yoga and meditation training session took place at the Conference Hall of the Department of Architecture and Planning. The sessions were well-attended and provided valuable insights into yoga practices and meditation techniques. Notably, on June 18, 2024, sessions were conducted by Acharya Unniraman from PYRC, Calicut, and Dr. Prasad Krishna, Director of NIT Calicut, and his wife Smt. Ranjini Prasad focusing on yoga and meditation, respectively.

Additionally, the Centre for Women Welfare & Social Empowerment hosted a special session titled "Empowering Women Through Yoga: Principles to Practice" by Dr. Smitha AV, which drew participation from women of all ages, including NITC faculty, staff, students, and their families. This session aimed to highlight the role of yoga in empowering women and promoting holistic well-being.
