ChunavKaParv Campaign

Election Awareness programmes were conducted on 4th and 5th of March 2024 as part of the ‘ChunavKaParv Campaign’ within the campus premises. The program was jointly organised by NSS and NCC volunteers of NITC and was a resounding success, aiming to engage voters and encourage first time voters in the #MeraPehlaVoteDeshKeLiye Campaign. Various activities were organized, including a voter’s pledge, quiz, debate, peer-to-peer campaign, and government voting app QR code display.

1. Voter’s Pledge & Quiz :

The evening of 4th of March was made informative by the Quiz followed by an AV presentation and Voter's pledge organised at the Aryabhatta hall to engage and inform students about the importance of voting. The organisers shared valuable insights into the need for unbiased voting and exercising our power to select our representatives in this democracy. The voter’s pledge was taken affirming the essence of the day. We pledged to uphold our responsibilities as citizens. Each promise was a seed sown for a better tomorrow.

 

 

2. Debate :

A thought-provoking debate was held on 5th of March, 8 pm at the greenAmphitheater, organized by NSS and NCC volunteers to encourage critical thinking and discussions on electoral issues. The discussion was on the question, ‘Should the option of postal ballot be provided to all voters?’.The program provided a platform for expressing our opinions and also learn about other dimensions and opinions on the topic. The event made students think more about how elections are being conducted in our country and also about various measures that could be implemented to improve the situation.

 

3. Peer-to-peer Campaign :

The volunteers also conducted a peer-to-peer campaign within the NITC Campus premises, spreading awareness and encouraging voter participation. This helped to know the current awareness level of the student community on elections and the interest of the young generation in being the gatekeepers of democracy. Students were presented with an opportunity for self-reflection.

 

4. Government Voting APP QR Code Display :

QR codes for the Government Voting APP were displayed, facilitating easy access to voter information and registration. Also a photo booth was set up to use social media for more spread of information.

 

 

The immense support from Dr.Rajanikant G.K., Dean of Students’ Welfare was inevitable for the successful organization and completion of the event. The invaluable presence and support of Dr.Reju George Mathew ,NSS NITC Program Coordinator and Dr. Chandra ShekarBestha ,NCC NITC Program Coordinator have gone a long way in making this campaign fruitful. NSS faculty coordinators Dr.LintuRajan, Dr.Anantha Singh T S and Dr.Praveen Kumar G supported throughout the events.The event was made possible by the collaboration and coordination of NSS and NCC volunteers of NITC, staff members, and faculty members. Their dedication ensured the seamless progression of the campaign.

The #ChunavKaParv campaign at NITC was not only a celebration of democracy but also a testament to the active engagement and commitment of the NITC community towards shaping the future of the nation through their votes.
