Celebrated Victory Day on May 2^nd 2024

On May 2, 2024, NIT Calicut celebrated its Victory Day, recognizing the achievements of its students and faculty members in various Inter NIT and Interdepartmental competitions. The event’s Chief Guest was Cmdr. Dr. Shamsundara, the Registrar of NIT Calicut, who delivered the presidential speech. Mr. Dhanesh Rambeth, SAS officer, extended the welcome address.

Mr. Adil K, the Sports Secretary of NIT Calicut, then presented the Annual Sports Report, highlighting the commendable performance of the college's first women's football and cricket teams. The ceremony proceeded with the acknowledgment of outstanding athletes, including:

Annual Athletic meet Individual Championship (Women): Vadde Kowshika, MED

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the Inter Departmental Games 2023-24 Overall Championship, with the Mechanical Engineering Department clinching the top spot, followed by the Civil Engineering Department as the Runner-up and the ECE Department as the Second Runner-up.

Furthermore, the Champions Trophy for the Athletic Meet was awarded to the Chemical Engineering Department, while the Computer Science and Engineering Department and BSED/Material Science & Engineering Department secured the Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up positions, respectively.

The exceptional performance of NIT Calicut's various sports teams in the AIINIT Sports Tournament 2023-24, which brought pride and trophies to our institution, was duly honored during the ceremony. In addition, the Faculty and staff team of NIT Calicut, whose contributions have brought glory to our campus, were also honored during the ceremony.The coaches were presented with a memento shortly after the distribution of prizes, symbolizing our gratitude for their efforts in nurturing such a fantastic squad and enhancing the college's reputation.The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from Joint Sports Secretary, Mr. Arpit Ambastha.
