Bhoomi Pooja for Ladies Hostel
Shri. Prof. Prasad Krishna, Director, NITC, and Shri. R K Dhiman, Spl. DG, CPWD, conducted the Bhoomi Puja of the proposed "760 Capacity Ladies Hostel" on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 9.30 AM in the presence of Dr. Shamasundara M. S., Registrar, NITC. Dr. Priya Chandran, Dean – Planning and Development, Dr. Satyananda Panda, Dean Student Welfare, Dr. M. S. Sunitha, Dean Faculty Welfare, and Dr. K Haribabu, Chairman – Council of Wardens, also graced the occasion.
Officials, including the Superintending Engineer CPWD, Executive Engineers from CPWD, Assistant Engineers from CPWD, along with Superintending Engineer, NITC, Executive Engineers from NITC, and other various officers from NITC and CPWD, were present on the occasion.
The project with an estimated cost of Rs. 71.85 Crores is to be executed through CPWD funded through the HEFA Scheme of the Government of India. The stipulated completion period of the project is 24 months and M/s. Sukdevraj Sharma, Engineers & Contractors Pvt Ltd, Bangalore is the contractor for the project.
Once completed, the project will provide 760 rooms solely for female students, equipped with cutting-edge amenities. The proposed project envisions features such as an exclusive kitchen, dining areas, recreation areas, a dedicated STP, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy provision. The project is expected to be completed by April 2026 .
The Director, NITC had expressed his pleasure in the materialization of the project and instructed the technical team to ensure the timely completion. The SPL DG CPWD, on the occasion, instructed the team and contractor to ensure the quality and time aspects and to ensure the fulfillment of clients’ requirements.
