Anakkampoyil public library gets solar powered digital hub

IEEE Student Branch of NITC launches the project

Solar Powered Digital Hub Project was launched at Anakkampoyil Public Library in the district on Sunday. Linto Joseph, MLA of Thiruvambady inaugurated the project introduced by the Student Branch (SB) Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) of the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC).

The IEEE Student Branch of NIT Calicut completed the project with the support of the IEEE International Humanitarian Activities Commission (HAC) using Rs 3,11,013. The project aims at educational empowerment and renewable energy use with the opening of an advanced solar-powered digital hub at V K Krishnamenon Public Library.

K M Baby, panchayat president presided over the programme. Prof. Muhammed Kasim S, Chairperson of IEEE Kerala Section was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Praveen Sankaran, Chairperson of the Centre for Career Development, NITC released a handbook at the function. Mr George M Thomas, ex-MLA of Thiruvambady, Dr K V Shihabuddheen, IEEE student branch counsellor of NITC and others were present.
